News: Snoop Dogg Supports Openly Gay Rapper In Hip-Hop

Snoop Dogg is one of many artists that believes hip-hop’s views on homosexuality have changed and supports the idea of an openly gay rapper. There have been several debates and negative comments after Frank Ocean came out in his open letter, but maybe rap is ready to get over it’s homophobia.

In a interview with the Salt Lake Tribune Snoop says:

“People are learning how to live and get along more, and accept people for who they are and not bash them or hurt them because they’re different,”

“When I was growing up, you could never do that and announce that,” said Snoop of Ocean’s letter. “There would be so much scrutiny and hate and negativity, and no one would step (forward) to support you because that’s what we were brainwashed and trained to know.”

Other artists such as Busta Rhymes and Lil Scrappy also supported Frank Ocean, but would they back a gay rapper? I don’t know if hip-hop has come that far. However, I’m sure some fans would support hip-hop’s first homosexual.
